Herbal Teas
Skip the caffeine, but don’t skimp on the taste
Herbal teas, or tisanes might be a good choice during pregnancy - they are made from fresh or dried herbs, flowers, fruit, hips and spices and also from roots, berries and leaves from a variety of plants. Since they are not made from actual tea plant leaves they do not contain caffeine.
But be aware that not all herbal teas are safe for pregnancy. Many herbs such as chamomile, nettle, red raspberry* and yarrow (just to name a few) should be avoided during pregnancy.
*Red Raspberry has been know to be benefitial as you approach labour, but should not be used until the later stages of pregnancy.
